About Abigail

I graduated school a year early, achieving Honor roll, as well as the biology and social change award. In my last year of high school, I was approached to become a mentor, and then a tutor. My students always saw improvement in their grades and overall drive to submit more work. I have worked primarily with students who have ADHD or autism, and have skill in creating lessons that work for the individual. My social skills and academic capability make me the perfect tutor for you. I have tutored and mentored ages 13-17, and worked with them to help them to uncover their buried potential!

About the lesson

The first thing I establish is a comfort and rapport between the student and me. I believe that knowing the individual and becoming a safe space is CRUCIAL to creating successful lessons that work for them. After taking time to identify what my student struggles in, if necessary, I will break it down into basics first, then recognize and work on the primary issue. If not, I still break struggles down into “bite sized” pieces, so that it is not overwhelming for my student to work with. My students have and will always grow academically, in my approach, I ensure that my student always comes out of lessons feeling accomplished. Even for the little things.
