About Harishan
Currently, I am a student at the University of Waterloo studying Honours Mathematics. I learn best by teaching concepts to my fellow peers, as it forces me to understand them myself. I have a plentiful amount of experience as a tutor, being an executive member of my high school's tutoring club. From experience, involving the tutee in the teaching is the best way for them to learn, rather than just mindlessly rambling and assuming that whatever I say will magically make sense. I don't just want you to be better at math, I want you to enjoy the beauty of math.

My approach to tutoring:
- Use my experience as a previous high school math tutor to help you understand concepts more clearly
- Start off with a quick recap of the lesson from when you learned it in class
- Have the tutee repeat all the main concepts of the lesson (Active Recall, statistically proven to be extremely beneficial to learning)
- Work on multiple practice problems together, varying in difficulty
My goal as a tutor:
- I do not see my tutees as my students, but rather as my peers with whom I am looking to share my passion for math with
- Specifically looking to help high school students, but able to teach elementary school as well, as long as their school is following Ontario Curriculum.
