Having tutored peers for the last 5 years, I understand that learning and study methods vary from person to person. I am very flexible in how I help others and I adapt my teaching method to their needs. I also inform my methods with findings in cognitive psychology, which ultimately help students make stronger semantic links between concepts, have a deeper understanding of material and retain information.
Having a learning disability myself and pursuing a career in a competitive field, I hope to help other students with a learning disability to understand themselves and how their brain functions in order for them to accomplish their potential. Learning disabilities can make higher education more tiring and straining, but with the right support and tools, it should in no way affect your ability to achieve your goals.
