About Benjamin

The ability of a student to effectively express themselves in writing gives them the confidence to more forward with the rest of their studies, and the same goes for reading if they actually understand the material they're working on they are less likely to fall victim to feeling overwhelmed with their studies.

I know first hand, when I was younger my teachers would've said "he's a good kid but he needs to apply himself" one of the first steps to doing so, is a strong foundation of literacy and written expression.

About the lesson

The key to reading and writing is working to identify the main ideas and supporting arguments of whatever text you either need to interpret or write.

I'll assess the student's abilities, set attainable goals and then take steps towards success, like reviewing the prompt provided, filling in any skill gaps, and more obscurely but I assure you it's important, make sure the student can explain the main idea, and supporting arguments, to a 5 year old, thereby demonstrating their deep understanding.
