About Ian

LAMDA GRADUATE WITH PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE. Originally from Northumberland, I moved to London in 2010 to study on the BA(Hons) Acting course at LAMDA. Since graduating in 2013, I have worked professionally as an Actor on stages like the Globe Theatre in London and have worked with influential Industry figures including Janet Suzman and Nicky Henson. I decided fairly early on in my Acting career that I wanted to teach alongside my main profession and have enjoyed working with a whole host of students ranging from younger students hoping to undertake LAMDA exams, those auditioning for drama school and have even worked with adults who simply want some coaching ahead of an important amateur dramatic performance! I would love to help you on your journey to becoming a professional actor or maybe you simply want to help your little one with their public speaking voice and confidence?! Whatever it is you are looking for, I am ready to help you achieve your goals! I truly believe that unlocking our creativity is one of the best things we can do to become happy and well-rounded people. I'd love to share that passion with you or your child. About the lesson

My lessons provide a fun and nurturing space for students to explore their creativity through performance while also building confidence and providing a solid foundation of training in the discipline of Acting. I mix practical rehearsal with more text-based work so that students feel armed with a complete toolkit and my aim is for my students to feel like they have been given the skillset to approach any performance in the same way a professional Actor might. I have been teaching privately since graduating from LAMDA in 2013. I also have intricate knowledge of the LAMDA exam curriculum, having worked in its Head Office in 2017. Lessons can be 30mins or 60mins in length (30mins recommended for students younger than 12). I am currently teaching in person in Northern Ireland and via Zoom for students based elsewhere.
