About Christopher

I graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a Bachelor of Commerce, where I achieved a distinction average. A big reason for this was the study methods I use, which are based on psychology research into memory, learning, and performance. I now teach these same evidence-based study techniques to my students, including active recall, spaced repetition, practice testing, and effective exam preparation strategies, so they can study smarter and perform better in exams.

I have experience tutoring HSC Biology students and helping them improve their understanding, confidence, and exam performance. My focus is not just memorization, but helping students truly understand biological concepts and learn how to answer HSC exam questions properly to maximize marks.

I am also very passionate about education more broadly. I have taught English and science overseas in Cambodia and have been involved in fundraising for education projects and schools in developing regions. Through these experiences, I developed a strong belief in the importance of education and how much it can change a person’s life and opportunities.

Because of this, I genuinely enjoy teaching and working with students. I’m patient, easy to talk to, and I try to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. My goal is not just to help students improve their Biology marks, but to help them become better learners and more confident students overall.

About the lesson

I am a University of Wollongong graduate with a Bachelor of Psychological Science and a Bachelor of Commerce. I have experience tutoring HSC Biology students and helping them improve their understanding, confidence, and exam performance, with students going on to achieve high HSC results.

My background in psychology also allows me to teach students evidence-based study techniques based on how memory and learning actually work. This includes strategies such as spaced repetition, active recall, practice testing, and effective note-taking methods, which help students retain information and perform better in exams.

My focus is not just memorisation, but helping students truly understand biological concepts so they can apply their knowledge to any HSC exam question with confidence.

Lessons can include theory revision, exam questions, practice papers, study planning, and learning how to study effectively for the HSC.
