About Maria

I'm a second-year Information Technology student (Business Systems) at IIE Rosebank College, Johannesburg. I've been tutoring since high school, helping classmates who were struggling with a topic go on to actually pass and understand the work, which is what made me want to keep teaching.
Since then, I've built real technical experience through a Data Science & Analytics internship, where I worked hands-on with Python (Pandas, NumPy), Excel, and Power BI to clean data, build dashboards, and turn confusing datasets into clear insights. I've also completed certifications through AWS's AI & ML Scholars program and Simplilearn's Data Science Foundation, and I've built automation workflows using Power Automate.
I teach Python, Java, Data Analytics, Excel, and general computer literacy, business studies and economics from complete beginners to students working on real projects or assignments. Whether you're a school learner, a university student, or an adult wanting practical tech skills, I'll adjust my approach to how you learn best.

About the lesson

I focus on making sure you actually understand the concept, not just memorize steps or copy code. I break things down using practical, real-world examples, for programming, that means writing and testing actual code together, not just watching me explain theory. For data analytics, I work with real datasets so you can see how the skills apply outside the classroom. I adjust my pace and teaching style to how you learn best, whether that means more repetition, more visual explanations, or working through your own assignment step by step. No jargon, no judgment, just clear explanations until it clicks.
