About Irvin

I am a First-Class Biomedical Engineering graduate from King’s College London and an incoming MSc student at Imperial College London. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of mathematics, science, programming and engineering, as well as experience applying these subjects to challenging real-world problems.

I enjoy teaching because I know how much difference a clear explanation and the right support can make. My aim is to help students feel more confident, improve their problem-solving skills and develop a genuine understanding of the subject rather than relying only on memorisation.

I am patient, reliable and professional, and I always adapt my teaching style to suit the student’s level and learning needs. I also have previous experience teaching coding to younger students, which has helped me develop a clear, encouraging and approachable teaching style.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is patient, structured and tailored to the individual student. I first identify the topics they find difficult and any gaps in their understanding, then break each concept into clear, manageable steps. I use worked examples, visual explanations and targeted practice questions to help students understand why a method works rather than simply memorising it.

A typical lesson lasts one hour. Lessons usually begin with a short review of previous material, followed by focused teaching of a new topic. We then work through questions together before the student attempts similar problems independently. I also include exam-style questions, revision strategies and feedback on common mistakes where appropriate.

I hold a First-Class degree in Biomedical Engineering from King’s College London and will be studying an MSc at Imperial College London. My degree has given me a strong foundation in mathematics, biology, physics, programming and engineering. I also have previous experience teaching coding to younger students.

My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students studying Maths and Science, as well as beginners learning Python or coding. I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and gradually build confidence in their abilities.
