About Heather
I am a credentialed k-12 teacher with several teaching credentials including Art. I come to ceramics later in life and have taken classes from incredibly naturally talented people. The problem is that most of us take longer to develop our talents and most people teaching ceramics classes don't know how to teach.
Ceramics is an art form that anyone can learn but it does take time and patience. What makes the difference in how fast? A good teacher, that can give you some tips, techniques, knowledge and short cuts.

I work with students to understand both the material and mechanics of working on a wheel. Working on the wheel is understanding not just body and hand positioning but the balance and feel of the clay. I offer individual lessons in hand building, wheel, and kiln firing both in person and online. The first lesson includes all clay and materials. I will fire individual projects completed with approved clay at my studio.
