About Jeanne
I have been teaching English for more than twenty years, including at the K-12 and college levels. I enjoy working with students of all ages and diverse backgrounds. Most recently, I was helping students in Buffalo, New York, gain English skills to prepare for college and the workplace. Before that, I was an English teacher for ten years at Hawaii Community College. I am still in touch with many of my former colleagues and students!

I love reading and writing, and I am enthusiastic about helping students so that they can enjoy academic English and discover their own abilities. I am an organized, prepared, creative, concerned teacher. I take great care personalizing my lessons to meet the specific needs of each of student. My lessons start with a clear presentation of the session's objectives, followed by clearly connected activities that include opportunities for students to ask questions and process what they have learned. For content, I incorporate the goals and interests of my students. Helping students gain mastery and confidence gives me joy!

Perfect! Very kind, supportive and knowledgeable
Perfect! I didn't know how to go about this, but Jeanne is an expert and set up a great writing exercise for me. She informed me of my mistakes in a very kind and constructive way and I will definitely be making more routine appointments in the future. I highly recommend Jeanne.
