About Sam
Hi! I'm currently a first year student at the University of Birmingham studying Maths. Whilst in High School, I tutored multiple students ranging from Year 9 to Further Maths GCSE. My Year 9 student went from second bottom in his class to top within a term, and my Further Maths GCSE student achieved an A^ (the highest grade, above A*).
I am a friendly and outgoing person, and have worked with children and teenagers on many occasions. I have led several residential camps for teenagers, and have been employed by a school (not my own) to be a leader on a two and a half week long school trip.
In my A-Levels I achieved A*s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics. I also achieved an A in AS-Level Chemistry. I also achieved A*s in all these subjects at GCSE (apart from Further Maths in which I achieved an A^). I am extremely confident in my abilities in these subjects at the level that I offer tuition.
I am a likeable and relaxed tutor and a big believer in enjoying one's studies on the way to achieving the maximum grades one is capable of.

In the past, I have tutored pupils in 2 ways: by helping them understand concepts they were struggling with in school, and guiding them through questions (often written by myself) until they did not need any help to complete the questions; and I have also taught completely new topics from scratch, in a case where a pupil was taking a higher level examination than his classmates.
My pupils have always enjoyed my lessons and have also always reached the level that they are capable of. Not only do my pupils improve in the subject in which I am tutoring them, they also learn to love the subject, and look forward to our lessons together.
