About Julia

I believe learning should be engaging and fun. Students need to have a connection with their tutor to foster enthusiasm and enjoyment in a subject, and so I offer a free trial lesson with the main goal of getting to know the student and understanding their academic needs within this session. Over many sessions, we will continue to build on this relationship while also finding the method of learning that fits them best.
I take a friendly, patient, and enthusiastic approach, ensuring that students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes - after all, that is how we learn!

Year 1 - 6 Maths (1h)

For Japanese students, my focus is on the four main components of the ATAR curriculum - Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. I have many resources such as textbooks, audio and essay prompts for each component, from beginner level to upper intermediate. Having undertaken Japanese as an ATAR subject in Year 11 & 12 myself, I understand the demands of the curriculum. As a third year Japanese major at university, I can also teach vocabulary and grammar that is above the level of the curriculum, which can put students ahead if implemented in the right way.

For Maths students, I make complex concepts easier to understand by breaking them down into smaller, manageable steps, using visual aids, and offering plenty of practice worksheets. I model problem solving suitable for students' age by using the I Do, We Do, You Do method, and the CRA approach.
