About Ena

Hello! I’m Ena, a native Japanese speaker. For over five years I have worked as a professional writer and editor, mainly in business domains (marketing, recruitment), and more recently in essays and language-related content.
Because I myself went through the experience of learning French (and other languages) and struggled with “knowing the grammar but not being able to speak naturally”, I deeply understand what learners feel.
I speak Japanese (native) and French (upper‐intermediate, B2). My English is very limited (A1)—so I will focus on using Japanese or French in lessons.
I love reading books on linguistics, sociology, history, cognitive science, philosophy… and I enjoy talking about a wide range of topics. I also love hearing your interests, hobbies, goals—let’s make your Japanese journey meaningful together.

About the lesson

In my lessons you will:
• Practice Japanese conversation while learning expressions and vocabulary that textbooks rarely cover, but that native speakers use all the time.
• Explore subtle nuance differences between similar words (for example: 三回 vs 三度, or 書く vs 描く) and build your semantic sensitivity.
• Use your favorite content—anime, drama, books, news—as a springboard to learn natural expressions, idioms, and culture-embedded language.
• Discuss Japanese society and underlying cultural ways of thinking—not just language mechanics—so that you don’t just know Japanese, you feel it.
• Don’t worry: grammar, idioms, and usage are well covered. I love grammar. Ask me lots of questions!
This class is particularly suitable if you are intermediate or above and want to expand your expressive range and develop a more native-like sense of Japanese.
