About Nicoya
Hi, I’m Nico. I have over 7 years of experience in education, supporting students in academic and creative subjects—including English, Biology, Chemistry, Music, Art, and GCSE preparation. I’ve worked as a tutor, an SEN teaching assistant, and a teacher in both mainstream and SEN schools. Currently, I teach Secondary Science, specialising in Biology, and I also offer support in Chemistry. Education opens doors, and I believe every child deserves a chance to walk through them. As someone who faced challenges at school—navigating multiple systems and countries as a neurodivergent person from an immigrant background—I understand how important it is to have a teacher who sees your potential. I value each student’s uniqueness and take a child-focused approach to help them discover what works best for them. My role as a teacher is not just to deliver content, but to nurture confidence, self-awareness, and independence—so every learner knows they are capable of achieving great things. I aim to continue making a difference in education by diversifying the curriculum—both in content and in teaching approaches—to ensure that all students see themselves reflected in what they learn and how they learn it. My goal is to create inclusive, meaningful learning experiences that empower young people from all backgrounds.
