About Jia

Hello! I'm a professional Korean tutor teaching Korean in Canada. I've had the opportunity to work with a wide range of learners, gaining experience in tailoring my teaching to different learning styles and goals.

I approach language not as something to simply memorize, but as a tool for communication. I believe it's essential to create an atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes — because that's where real progress happens naturally.

For those preparing for employment or study abroad, I offer practical, goal-oriented lessons. For K-pop and K-drama fans, I create an enjoyable and engaging learning experience. Since I take the time to understand each student's background and goals before designing the lessons, you can feel confident starting at any level.

About the lesson

My lessons follow a personalized 1:1 curriculum tailored to each student's goals and level. Every class is structured around a clear flow: reviewing the previous lesson, learning new grammar and vocabulary, practicing real conversation, and assigning homework — always focusing on expressions you can use in real life right away.

I apply proven teaching methods to balance pronunciation, grammar, and conversation. Rather than rote memorization, I focus on understanding-based learning, helping students build the ability to form their own sentences naturally.

These lessons are designed for everyone — from complete beginners, to those preparing for employment, study abroad, or business in Korea, to K-pop and K-drama fans who simply want to learn Korean. I flexibly adjust the content to match each student's purpose, whether that's TOPIK exam prep, improving conversation skills, or business Korean.
