About Valeria

I am a passionate and dedicated Spanish tutor from Colombia, currently studying Law and helping students from around the world learn Spanish in a natural, engaging, and confident way. I graduated from Colegio Panamericano, recognized as one of the top schools in the country, where I built a strong academic foundation in communication, languages, leadership, and international studies. My educational background has taught me the importance of discipline, organization, and adapting to different ways of learning, skills that I now apply in every lesson I teach.

Throughout my academic journey, I have actively participated in Model United Nations conferences, public speaking competitions, debate activities, and leadership programs. These experiences strengthened my communication and interpersonal skills, allowing me to express ideas clearly, connect with people from different cultures, and create meaningful conversations. They also helped me develop confidence, patience, and the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple and understandable way — qualities that are essential when teaching a language.

As a tutor, I believe that learning Spanish should feel motivating, practical, and enjoyable rather than stressful or repetitive. My classes are personalized to each student’s goals, level, and learning style. Whether you want to improve your pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, conversation skills, or overall fluency, I create lessons that are interactive, supportive, and focused on real communication. I enjoy helping students feel comfortable speaking from the very first lesson, even if they are complete beginners.

Studying law has strengthened my analytical thinking, communication, and organization, while my experience in debates and international environments has given me confidence and adaptability. I understand that every student learns differently, so I always aim to create a positive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow naturally.

Beyond teaching grammar and vocabulary, I also love sharing Colombian and Latin American culture, expressions, traditions, and everyday language so students can develop a more authentic connection with Spanish. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them feel confident using Spanish in real-life situations, whether for travel, business, academics, professional growth, or personal enrichment.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is dynamic, personalized, and centered on helping students communicate with confidence in real-life situations. I create an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable speaking from the very first lesson, while developing pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency naturally through conversation and interactive activities. Every class is adapted to the student’s goals, interests, and learning style to make the process both effective and enjoyable.

Beyond my academic background as a Law student and graduate of Colegio Panamericano, one of the top schools in Colombia, I have extensive experience in public speaking, debate, and Model United Nations conferences. These experiences strengthened my communication, leadership, and intercultural skills, allowing me to connect easily with students from different backgrounds and teach Spanish in a clear, confident, and engaging way.

I currently offer only online Spanish lessons, allowing students from anywhere in the world to learn comfortably and flexibly from home. My classes are taught one-on-one and are fully personalized according to each student’s level, goals, and learning style.

I work with an hourly system, and rates can be negotiated depending on the intensity and frequency of the lessons. Whether you are looking for occasional conversation practice or a more intensive learning plan, I am happy to adapt to your needs and create a schedule that works best for you.
