About Joshua

For over ten years and four years of teaching drums, I have come to discover that what motivates and inspires anyone to learn is: vision. A vision gives you a path to take, a goal to pursue, and a purpose to fulfill. As someone who has worked in local bands, several music recordings and teaching drums, anything is attainable as long as you're committed to it. I will make sure to provide all the material and support you need to achieve your drumming goals.

About the lesson

I love seeing people learn and grow in their skills on the drums. With over 4 years of teaching young kids and adults, and ten years of experience playing drums in bands and projects, it is a joy to give what I have learned in my music journey. I will teach you how to become the drummer you desire to be, through practical and hands-on exercises. A typical lesson with me is 30 - 50 minutes, depending on your goal. Starting with a brief overview of the lessons then quickly followed by doing exercises with music, a metronome, or even sheet music. I teach beginner and intermediate drummers. Joshua has been giving drum lessons to my son for 4 years now. Before that, my son was taking lessons with another tutor at a music school. I immediately saw the difference once we switched. Joshua's approach is truly student-centered. He is very attentive to his student needs and does not hesitate to make adjustments to reach the learning goals. With him, there is a very nice balance between theory and practice. After the first 3 months, my son was able to play on his own. Beyond music, Joshua has a very beautiful personality. He is open-minded and positive and transmits this very well to those around him. I highly recommend him for his patience, for his passion for passing on his knowledge and seeing others succeed. Since last year, my son is officially the lead drummer for our church's children's ministry.
