About Gabriel

Hi, I'm Gabriel, a developer and coding tutor dedicated to making programming feel approachable, exciting, and genuinely understandable, no matter where you're starting from.

My teaching approach is hands-on and project-based. Rather than sitting through long lectures, my students learn by building: small games, animations, websites, and apps that turn abstract concepts into something real and rewarding. I break each idea down into clear, manageable steps, check in frequently to make sure understanding is solid (not just surface-level), and adapt my explanations to match how each student learns best. Mistakes and debugging are part of the process here, not something to fear, since working through a problem is often where the deepest learning happens.

Lessons typically run 45 to 60 minutes, a length I've found keeps focus sharp and momentum strong. For students with specific goals, such as interview preparation or exam readiness, I also offer extended 90-minute sessions to allow for deeper, more thorough work.

With hands-on industry experience as a developer and years spent tutoring students of varying ages and skill levels, I bring both real technical expertise and a genuine commitment to teaching well. I stay current with the tools and languages most relevant to today's learners, including Scratch, Python, and JavaScript, so every lesson reflects modern best practices rather than outdated methods.

I work with a wide range of students: young children taking their first steps into block-based coding, teens learning a programming language for the first time, and adult beginners or career-changers building skills from the ground up. No prior experience is ever required. Every lesson plan is thoughtfully tailored to the individual's age, pace, and goals, so you can feel confident you're getting an approach built specifically around how you learn best.

Learning to code is a journey, and I'm here to make sure it's one built on patience, clarity, and real progress.

My Approach to Tutorin

I believe coding is best learned by doing, not by memorizing. My teaching style is hands-on and project-based: instead of long lectures, we build something together from the very first lesson, whether that's a simple animation, a small game, or a basic website. I break big ideas into small, manageable steps, check in constantly to make sure concepts are actually sticking (not just nodding-along understanding), and adjust on the fly if something needs more time or a different explanation. I also encourage students to think out loud and make mistakes, since debugging your own code is one of the best ways to really learn how it works.

Lesson Length

Sessions typically run 45–60 minutes, which I've found is the sweet spot: long enough to make real progress on a project, short enough to keep focus high, especially for younger learners. For older teens and adults working toward a specific goal (like interview prep or a coding certificate), I can also offer longer 90-minute sessions on request.

My Background

I'm Gabriel, a developer with hands-on industry coding experience and a genuine passion for teaching. I've spent years helping students of different ages and skill levels go from "I have no idea what I'm doing" to confidently writing and debugging their own code. I stay current with beginner-friendly tools and languages (like Scratch, Python, and JavaScript) so my lessons reflect how coding is actually taught and used today, not outdated methods.

Who My Lessons Are For

My students range from young kids just starting with block-based coding, to teens learning their first real programming language, to adult beginners and career-changers building skills from scratch. No prior experience is required for any age group. I tailor every lesson plan to the individual student's age, pace, and goals, so whether you're 9 or 49, you'll get an approach that actually fits how you learn.
