About Benoit
Bonjour à tous ! Je m'appelle Benoît et j'ai 33 ans. I am a professional conference interpreter and teacher. I have worked for 8 years as an interpreter in French, English, and Italian, working for various international organizations (European Union, UN, etc), French ministers and international companies, providing my services for their international meetings. I have been teaching languages and conference interpreting at university level in Paris for 6 years as well as giving one on one tutoring classes to individual students of all ages. I have only recently moved to Australia and would be more than happy to use my expertise to help you improve your language skills. I am also passionate about baking, French and European culture and traveling and would very much love to discuss it all with you in French during our lessons!

Learning another language is no easy feat, and French is no exception! However, it can be so much fun! Learning French not only means learning a new language but also delving into a new culture, meeting new people, and experiencing a whole new world!
While French might seem intimidating and hard at first, my role as a teacher is to define your objectives and set a roadmap to reach them. Whether you are studying French at school or university, preparing for an exam, or simply wanting to prepare a trip to France or learn about French culture and cuisine, we will adapt the content of the class to cater your needs.
Our class together will be a safe space where you will boost your confidence when speaking French. There are no stupid questions, and all mistakes should be embraced as ways to learn from them and improve your skills.
Based on your needs, level and interest, we will use books, role plays, games, picture descriptions, conversations, cooking lessons to work on your speaking, reading, listening and writing skills. No boring grammar lessons like we used to do it in the old days, there are many more fun ways to learn a language!
Lessons can last between 1h to 2h (1H30 probably being the most appropriate format for most students) and will cover different topics based on your progression. Depending on your profile and expectations, homework will be provided to keep you engaged in between classes. All ages and levels are welcome. Teaching style will be adapted to meet your needs and make sure you progress at a comfortable pace.
