About Thonin

Based in Vancouver as part of a working holiday experience since 3 months, I’ve spent the past year living and working in different countries, including Portugal, Greece, and the Czech Republic. These experiences have helped me develop strong adaptability and an open, practical way of communicating with people from different backgrounds.

What I enjoy most is sharing my language and culture in a natural way, while also learning from others. I’ve often helped friends and people I met along the way improve their French through simple, real conversations.

I use everyday topics and cultural interests, such as movies, sports, history, geography, music, or literature, to make learning more engaging and relatable. This helps create a natural environment where students can speak more freely and improve without pressure.

My goal is simple: help you feel comfortable speaking French in real situations, while building confidence and clarity step by step.

About the lesson

My approach is based on conversation and practical use of French rather than traditional classroom methods. I focus on helping students speak more naturally and feel comfortable using the language in real situations.

Lessons are usually built around discussion. We talk first, then I naturally bring in vocabulary, expressions, or grammar points based on what comes up. I keep explanations simple and always connected to real examples, so things actually make sense and stick.

What I’ve noticed from friends I’ve helped is that I tend to explain things in a clear and intuitive way, without overcomplicating them. I also try to keep the atmosphere relaxed, so students don’t feel pressure when they speak.

A typical lesson is flexible: some conversation, some correction, and a few practical takeaways to work on until the next session. The idea is to build confidence step by step, not to follow a rigid program.

My lessons are for beginners and intermediate learners who want to improve their speaking, especially if they already “know some French” but struggle to actually use it.
