About Keira

I have been teaching French for over 4 years, and I hold a Master of Arts in French Linguistics in International Studies. My background allows me to bring not only language expertise but also a deep awareness of global cultures into every lesson. I believe French is more than a subject—it’s a gateway to understanding the world from multiple perspectives. In my teaching, I combine solid language foundations with opportunities to explore real-world contexts. I often incorporate current events, intercultural dialogues, and media from Francophone countries, helping students see how the language is alive and constantly evolving. From news articles to films, podcasts, and music, I use diverse resources to make lessons engaging and relevant. I have worked with students and professionals from across the globe who aim to strengthen their French for academic, personal, or career goals. Many of my learners are globally minded and appreciate how I connect language practice with cultural awareness. I design lessons that are practical, interactive, and tailored to each individual’s needs. My approach builds both confidence and curiosity, encouraging students to express themselves and to think critically about culture as well as communication. About the lesson

My teaching approach in French is centred on making the language feel natural, enjoyable, and easy to use in everyday life. I focus on building strong foundations in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while keeping lessons engaging and interactive. To make learning memorable, I often use games, songs, storytelling, and even humour, as these methods help students remember vocabulary and grammar in a fun way. I believe that learning a new language is more than just memorising rules—it’s about feeling confident when using it. That’s why I create plenty of opportunities for real conversations, so students can practise expressing themselves clearly and comfortably. I also encourage role-plays, everyday dialogues, and practical scenarios that prepare learners for real-life situations. For those who are learning French to adapt to a new environment or culture, I provide special support by focusing on communication skills that make daily interactions smoother. This includes practising useful phrases, cultural insights, and building the confidence to handle conversations at work, school, or in social settings. I make sure every student feels supported, no matter their starting level. My lessons are flexible and shaped around each learner’s goals, whether it’s casual learning, academic improvement, or professional needs. With patience, encouragement, and creative methods, I help students not only learn French but also enjoy the journey of discovering a new language.
