About Neil
I am a French tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Applied Languages (French) in education. I specialize in teaching children aged 5–12 through interactive storytelling, songs, and movement. My lessons focus on building foundational vocabulary, clear pronunciation, and simple grammar in ways that are fun and easy to remember. I believe learning French should be playful and engaging, so I incorporate games, role-playing, and creative activities that spark curiosity. Each lesson is designed to be memorable, helping young learners absorb language naturally while enjoying the process. I adapt my teaching style to each child’s pace, ensuring they feel confident as they progress. I encourage exploration and active participation, giving children opportunities to speak, sing, and move in French. Pronunciation and basic sentence-building are reinforced through enjoyable repetition and interactive exercises. I also use stories and songs to introduce new words and concepts, making learning both joyful and meaningful. My goal is to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a love for the French language in every young learner. Together, we make learning an adventure, building skills that last a lifetime.

My teaching approach focuses on making French practical, enjoyable, and easy to grasp. I emphasize speaking fluently with natural speed and timing, helping students respond confidently in real conversations. Grammar is taught not just as rules, but through interactive exercises that build lasting understanding. I use sentence-building games and role-playing activities to make constructing sentences fun and memorable. Vocabulary is introduced in context, so learners can use words immediately in speaking and writing.
I encourage listening and comprehension exercises to improve quick responses in conversations. Pronunciation and accent are practiced regularly, so students feel confident and understood. I integrate reading, writing, and speaking tasks to strengthen all language skills simultaneously. Mock dialogues and scenario-based exercises simulate real-life situations, giving learners practical experience. Feedback is supportive and personalized, highlighting strengths and guiding improvement.
By focusing on structured practice and enjoyable activities, I help students gain confidence, fluency, and accuracy. The goal is to make French not just a subject, but a language they can use with ease. Learning becomes engaging, rewarding, and motivating at every step.
