About Tomoya

My name is Tomoya, and I’m a Japanese tutor originally from Tochigi, Japan. I now live in California and am passionate about helping students learn Japanese in a fun and effective way. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your skills to the next level, I’m here to support you every step of the way! In my free time, I enjoy traveling, playing golf, learning new languages, and watching anime and movies. These hobbies not only bring me joy but also help me connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds, which inspires me as a tutor.

About the lesson

My lessons are fully tailored to your goals and learning style. We can focus on pronunciation, grammar, slang, free conversation, or even prepare for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test). If you’re planning a trip to Japan, I can also help you create the perfect travel itinerary based on your interests, whether it’s sightseeing, food, or exploring nature.

I offer both online and in-person lessons. Online sessions are perfect for convenience, while in-person lessons can be arranged at a library, café, or other public location in San Diego, particularly in the North Park area. You can choose between 25-minute or 50-minute lessons to suit your schedule.

In my lessons, I use a variety of materials such as worksheets, flashcards, and textbooks to keep things engaging and interactive. I’m happy to work with your existing resources or recommend materials that best fit your learning goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already have some experience, I’ll make sure the lessons are fun and effective for you.
