About Jihyun

I am a native Korean speaker, born and raised in South Korea, and I am currently based in Austin, Texas.

My passion for teaching started back in Korea, where I taught Hangeul (the Korean alphabet) to young children. This experience taught me how to break down the language into its simplest, most engaging forms and helped me develop deep patience for beginners.

Language doesn't happen in a textbook! It happens when you're actually using it. I experienced this firsthand: I learned English through everyday conversations with friends, not boring grammar drills. That is exactly the natural, fun, and immersive approach I bring to our lessons.

Once you try this method, you’ll be surprised how fast Korean starts to click. Ready to learn Korean the real, fun way? Book your first lesson today!

About the lesson

Learning a new language can feel intimidating at first. There is no shortcut, but I firmly believe that learning a language MUST be fun. If it's not enjoyable, it's hard to stay motivated.

My goal is to make your Korean journey genuinely exciting and engaging, so you'll actually look forward to every class.

My lessons are 90%+ conducted in Korean to build the habit of thinking and answering directly in the language. English is always available as a safety net when needed, but we skip dry, textbook-heavy grammar lectures. Instead, we focus heavily on actual speaking time through real, natural conversations about your daily life, interests, and goals.

I tailor the curriculum to meet you exactly where you are, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced speaker aiming for natural fluency.

Perfect! My three kids just had their introductory Korean lesson with Jihyun and we were all really impressed. She created a warm, welcoming atmosphere right away and made them feel comfortable speaking from the start.
Even in just one class, her immersion-style approach kept all three engaged. She was patient, energetic, and skilled at adapting to different ages and levels at the same time. The kids left the lesson excited and already wanting more.
Jihyun is clearly responsive and professional. We’re looking forward to continuing lessons with her.
Highly recommend trying her class if you’re looking for a great Korean teacher!
