About Jihyun

I am a native Korean speaker, born and raised in South Korea, and I am currently based in Austin, Texas.

My passion for teaching started back in Korea, where I taught Hangeul (the Korean alphabet) to young children. This experience taught me how to break down the language into its simplest, most engaging forms and helped me develop deep patience for beginners.

Language doesn't happen in a textbook! It happens when you're actually using it. I experienced this firsthand: I learned English through everyday conversations with friends, not boring grammar drills. That is exactly the natural, fun, and immersive approach I bring to our lessons.

About the lesson

Learning a new language can feel intimidating at first. There is no shortcut, but I firmly believe that learning a language MUST be fun. If it's not enjoyable, it's hard to stay motivated.

My goal is to make your Korean journey genuinely exciting and engaging, so you'll actually look forward to every class.

My lessons are 90%+ conducted in Korean to build the habit of thinking and answering directly in the language. English is always available as a safety net when needed, but we skip dry, textbook-heavy grammar lectures. Instead, we focus heavily on actual speaking time through real, natural conversations about your daily life, interests, and goals.

I tailor the curriculum to meet you exactly where you are, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced speaker aiming for natural fluency.

My standard rate is $25 per hour Korean lessons.

First Lesson Free: I offer a free 45-minute introductory lesson to assess your level, discuss your goals, and see how our immersion method works for you.

5-Hour Pack: $120 (Save $5) — Great for short-term goals like travel prep or basic daily conversation phrases.

10-Hour Pack: $230 (Save $20) — Best value for building a consistent speaking habit and moving to the next level.

Note: For requested in-person lessons in Austin, a travel fee of $5–$10 may apply depending on the distance.
