About Anyie
I am a graduate of the Capilano Jazz program. I have been playing music for 12 years and teaching for 7 years. I grew up listening to Motown, pop, funk, R&B, gospel, to name a few.
My full circle moment is when students realize that they can achieve their goals regardless of their musical background. Music is not as complicated as it may seem - come and find out for yourself :)

My goal is to help students be the musician they want to be, whether it is the person who wants to pick up an instrument and just play by ear, or casually jam with their peers. Music theory and ear training are the key steps to get you there! These two components will help you understand what makes music so “cool” and what notes create tension and release to make your ears dance.
I’m very flexible with my approach, depending on your skill level and learning style. I also encourage students to bring in their own lists of songs that they would like to learn because it will take you further into what you really love!
