About Yuliya

Hello! I’m Yuliya, an RCM-trained pianist and Carnegie Hall performer with a passion for teaching music to students of all ages. I offer piano lessons from Levels 1–8, as well as guidance for those who want to learn pieces they love to play and impress their friends. My teaching approach is student-centered and encouraging—I focus on building strong technique, musicality, and confidence while keeping lessons fun and engaging. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether following the RCM curriculum or exploring favorite pieces. As a mother of two, I understand how to connect with kids and create a positive learning environment. I truly believe everyone can learn piano with the right mindset, patience, and guidance, and I love helping students discover the joy of music.

About the lesson

Teaching Methodology and Techniques:

I combine RCM curriculum structure with a student-centered approach, tailoring lessons to each learner’s goals. Whether following a formal syllabus or learning pieces the student loves, I focus on technique, musicality, and enjoyment. Lessons include sight-reading, scales, and repertoire practice, all designed to build confidence and consistent progress.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Warm-up & technique (5–10 min): scales, arpeggios, finger exercises

Review & practice discussion (5–10 min): previous pieces, progress tracking

New material (15–20 min): introducing new pieces or theory concepts

Creative/application (5–10 min): improvisation, personal projects, or learning favorite songs

Wrap-up (5 min): goal-setting and practice plan for the week
