About Susan
Hello! My name is Susan.
I was born in Kenya and have lived in Japan for more than 30 years. Like many of my students, I learned Japanese as an adult, so I understand both the challenges and the rewards of learning a new language.
Over the years, I've worked in international business, journalism, logistics, customer support, finance, healthcare, and adult education. These experiences have allowed me to meet people from many different countries and backgrounds, and I enjoy helping others communicate with confidence.
My goal is to create relaxed, enjoyable lessons where you feel comfortable asking questions and speaking Japanese without fear of making mistakes.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you enjoy your Japanese learning journey!

Hello! My name is Susan.
I have lived in Japan for more than 30 years and understand what it's like to learn Japanese as an adult. My goal is to help you speak natural, practical Japanese with confidence.
My lessons focus on real-life conversation rather than memorising textbooks. Whether you're living in Japan, planning a trip, preparing to move here, or simply want to improve your speaking skills, I'll tailor each lesson to your goals.
Lessons are conducted in English, so beginners are always welcome. We can practise everyday situations such as shopping, restaurants, public transport, hospitals, work, meeting friends, and daily conversations.
I create a relaxed, friendly environment where you can speak without worrying about making mistakes. Building confidence is just as important as learning new words and grammar.
