About Selbi

I'm Selbi, originally from Turkmenistan, where Russian is a second language spoken everywhere from classrooms to markets. I've been teaching Russian to beginners for several years, and I specialize in the A1 level — the stage where most learners give up. My advantage is simple: I explain Russian in English and Hindi, so grammar stops feeling like a wall. I've taught business owners, chefs working abroad, and medical students, and my approach is structured, practical, and focused on getting you speaking early.

About the lesson

Most people who try to learn Russian quit in the first month. Not because Russian is impossible, but because their teacher explains Russian grammar in Russian — and a beginner has no chance of following that.

I grew up with Russian in Turkmenistan, and I teach it in English and Hindi. So when you hit cases, verb aspects, or why the word order suddenly changed, you get an explanation in a language you already think in.

What I teach: Complete beginner to A1 — reading Cyrillic, everyday conversation, introducing yourself, ordering food, directions, basic grammar that actually sticks. This is my specialisation, and I've built my own structure for it over years of teaching.

Who I've taught: Business owners, hospitality professionals working abroad, medical students, and adults preparing to move or travel. Students who needed usable Russian, not a certificate.

Format: One-on-one online sessions, weekends. I take a limited number of students so each one gets proper attention between classes.

I work best with people who can commit to two sessions a week for at least three months. If that's you, message me and tell me why you want to learn Russian — I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit.

I have been taking lessons from selbi since some time now, and though i started out of curiosity to learn something different and was only looking for something short term, Selbi's excellent teaching style along with her happy and easy to go personality kept me continue for far longer and i am pretty sure selbi will do her best like she did in my case to make you learn something new or reach whatever targets you are aiming at. She has got a great voice herself, so that's a plus since it geniunly feels pretty good to see someone so talented teaching you something with all correct information and at the time its just a good to see her sing in general too. I would definitely recommend her for anyone who wishes to do vocal lessons.
