About Matt
I am a Mechanical and Robotics Engineer with over 20 years of experience using SolidWorks and applying mechanical design principles to real-world projects.
Throughout my career, I have worked on a wide variety of designs and manufacturing processes, including automation and robotics, end-of-arm tooling, palletizing and pick-and-place systems, trade show displays, rotomolded and blow-molded cases, plastic injection molding, aluminum extrusions, CNC machining, and shop fabrication.
My strongest areas include part modeling, assemblies, design intent, and manufacturability. I believe learning SolidWorks is about more than knowing which buttons to click. I can help you understand how to design parts that are practical to manufacture and create models and drawings that fabrication and manufacturing teams can clearly understand and use.
My engineering experience was built primarily through hands-on, real-world work. I hold an Associate of Applied Science degree and am a Certified SolidWorks Professional as well as Fanuc Robot certified. I have also tutored CAD students in college and regularly help coworkers with SolidWorks questions and technical challenges.
I enjoy helping people learn, whether you are opening SolidWorks for the first time, studying engineering, working on a hobby project, or looking for help with professional-level work. My goal is to provide practical, patient instruction tailored to your experience level and goals.
Outside of engineering, I am also an Eagle Scout and have experience teaching and mentoring others through leadership and practical skills training. I enjoy helping people build confidence, solve problems, and ultimately experience the satisfaction of seeing an idea go from a screen to something real.
