About María

About me

Hi! I’m a native Spanish speaker from Colombia, and I’m also a psychologist. I recently moved to England because I’m currently working on improving my English and experiencing what it’s really like to learn and communicate in a different language.

Because I’m going through this journey myself, I understand how exciting, challenging and sometimes frustrating learning a new language can be. I also know how rewarding it feels when you finally understand something, have your first real conversation or realise that you’re making progress.

That’s one of the reasons I’d love to teach Spanish. I want to make learning a new language feel enjoyable, natural and motivating. With my background in psychology, I also like to understand how each person learns best and adapt my lessons to their individual needs.

So, if you’re learning Spanish and want someone who understands both sides of the experience, I’d love to help you on your journey!

Learning Spanish shouldn’t feel like studying for an exam! As a psychologist and Spanish teacher, I believe everyone learns differently. That’s why I adapt my lessons to your learning style, whether you learn best through conversation, visuals, listening, practice, games, or real-life situations.

My lessons are dynamic, personalised and focused on helping you feel comfortable speaking Spanish from day one. We’ll laugh, talk, make mistakes, learn from them and, most importantly, enjoy the process.
