There are about 22 scheduled languages in our country which are spoken in different states of the country.
Among them, Hindi is the national language of our country.
Hindi is mainly spoken in states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
On 14th September 1949, Hindi language was declared as a national language.
That is why we celebrate 14 September every year as Hindi Day.
On this day, competitions related to Hindi writing are organized in schools and other educational institutions.
The official language of many government offices and educational' institutions is Hindi.

1. आधिकारिक उद्देश्यों के लिए हिंदी को संविधान के अनुच्छेद 343 के तहत देश की राजभाषा बनाया गया है।
2. अनुच्छेद 350 के अनुसार केंद्र सरकार का दायित्व है कि हिंदी का प्रचार-प्रसार करे।3. हिंदी शब्द, सिंधु शब्द से उत्पन्न हुई है, क्योंकि उस समय ईरान के लोग ‘सा’ को ‘हा’ कहते थे।
4. हिंदी भाषा वर्तमान में विश्व की उन प्रसिद्ध भाषाओं में से एक है जो ज्यादातर लोगों द्वारा बोली जाती है।
5. वर्तमान में दुनिया के अधिकांश विकसित देश के रेडियो प्रसारण में हिन्दी का बहुत ही अच्छा सम्मान है।
6. विश्व के लगभग सभी देशों के विश्वविद्यालयों में हिंदी पढ़ाई जाती है।
7. हॉलैंड के लगभग 12 विश्वविद्यालयों में और अमेरिका के 26 विश्वविद्यालयों में हिंदी पढ़ाई जाती है।
8. भारत के सभी विद्यालय और विश्वविद्यालयों में हिंदी पढ़ाई जाती है, जिनके शिक्षा का माध्यम हिंदी है।
9. हिन्दी भारत की एक समृद्ध भाषा है जिसमें सभी प्रकार के साहित्य की रचना हुई है।
10. हिंदी भाषा के साहित्य ने अब तक भारतेंदु, द्विवेदी, प्रसाद, मैथिलीशरण गुप्त, पंत, महादेवी वर्मा, जैसे कई महान साहित्यकारों को जन्म दिया है।
