About Anushka
Namaste! My name is Anushka. I am a passionate Kathak dancer with formal classical training from the prestigious Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, where I completed up to Praveshika Purna.
Having gone through the rigorous foundational training of the Gandharva curriculum myself, I understand exactly where beginners struggle and how to simplify complex movements. I teach because I want to make this beautiful classical art form accessible, joyful, and easy to understand for everyone starting out.

Welcome to your Kathak journey!
Whether you are looking to learn classical Indian dance as a hobby, build a strong foundation, or connect with Indian culture, this class is designed just for you.
I specialize in teaching complete beginners (both children and adults), making the learning environment warm, encouraging, and easy to follow.
What you will learn in this class:
Footwork (Tatkar): Master the basic rhythm, speed, and standard counting beats.
Hand Gestures & Postures: Learn proper Mudras (hand gestures) and body alignment essential to Kathak.
Chakkars (Spins): Practice the technique to execute clean, balanced classical spins.
Rhythm & Expression: Understand basic Taals (rhythmic cycles) and the storytelling aspect of Abhinaya.
My Methodology:
Every student learns at their own pace. I focus heavily on building strong foundational mechanics so you can dance gracefully without injuring yourself. Each class is structured to include a warm-up, step-by-step breakdown of new movements, practice reps, and a cool-down.No prior dance experience is required.
