About Fadhil
I have 3 years of experience playing the 13-string 箏 (Koto) under the watchful eye of Hori Sensei for 2 years while living in Japan. Sadly since I am no longer living in Japan, I am unable to continue my study but still play the Koto regularly in Australia.
During my stay in Japan, I have performed pieces such as 春の海 (Haru no Umi), さくら六つの変奏 (Sakura in 6 styles), 瀬音(自作ソロ変奏) (Sounds of Rapids Solo), 千本桜 (Senbonzakura) in Shrines and Halls.
Although I am unable to teach you everything about the koto, hopefully I can ignite a passion for you to learn it from great teachers in Japan.

Disclaimer: I do not have a Shihan.
Unfortunately without a “Shihan” I am unable to fully teach you everything about the Koto, but I am able to help you get started!
With 3 years of playing experience, I am sure I can help you get started with the basics. If you would like to learn more, I am more than happy to direct you to multiple teachers in Japan who will be able to teach more advanced techniques.
We will go through your posture, 爪 (Tsume), 箏柱 (Kotoji), 和楽譜 (Traditional Music Sheet), Tuning and more!
Don’t own a koto at home but looking to buy one? Not to worry, I have a direct line to one of the best koto makers in Japan where you can order one!
Want to learn the 17, 20 or even 25 stringed koto? I am able to direct you to a teacher that is able to teach them!
Each lesson will be one hour long, but it is possible to go longer.
