About Maria

Hi! My name is Maria Trzpis. Music is my greatest passion and way of life. I am a composer, but also a pianist and educator. I love music, I love its feelings, delving into both its emotional realm and the physical foundations of sound, to wandering deep into the depths of the past and exploring how music once sounded and how it has changed over the years. I graduated from the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, where I earned a Master's degree in composition and two Bachelor's degrees with distinction – in composition and rhythmics. These studies allowed me to combine creativity with teaching, thanks to which I know how to teach effectively, with heart and understanding. I also have five years of experience in private teaching; my students stay with me for a long time and are very satisfied with my classes. I create music that combines expression, rhythmic energy, and modern sounds. My compositions have been performed, among others. I've performed at film music concerts in Gdańsk, the Mundus Cantat festival in Sopot, at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, and on the "Nowa Polska" program on Polish Radio 2. I'm a recipient of the Gdańsk Cultural Scholarship, a KPO scholarship for culture, and a residency in Iceland (2025). I'm also a board member of the Youth Circle of the Polish Composers' Union, where we organize interesting concerts together :) Music gives me strength, joy, and constant inspiration—and that's what I want to share with others. Besides music, I love traveling, mountain hiking, meeting new people, learning, and all things personal development and psychology. About the lesson

My classes have a relaxed and friendly atmosphere—no stress, but plenty of inspiration and laughter. We talk a lot because I want to get to know you and your musical preferences. Every student is different—some dream of classical music, others of rock, metal, jazz, film scores, or even music written for games—so I tailor each class individually. Right from the start, I'll ask you for a playlist of your favorite music. This allows me to better understand your taste and help you develop in your chosen direction. This also greatly develops me and helps me discover music I wasn't familiar with before. I teach many subjects, so each student receives their own folder on my hard drive, where we take notes during class, and I update the hard drive with necessary knowledge, textbooks, and notes. I use a variety of materials: apps, sheet music, videos, textbooks, and my own arrangements. All this to ensure learning is enjoyable, effective, and creative. Each composition class is a little different for each student. So, depending on your needs, we can also teach you piano, improvisation, music theory—or simply develop your musicality in a way that brings you joy. What's most important to me is that you leave each lesson with a smile, new knowledge, and fresh inspiration. I invite you to a lesson! The current prices are promotional because I've moved and am looking for new students :D The price of in-person classes is 110 PLN per hour, while video lessons are 100 PLN per hour. Lessons with home visits are available for an additional 20 PLN. Packages of lessons can be purchased at a lower price: In-person classes: – 5 hours: 525 PLN – 10 hours: 1000 PLN Video lessons: – 5 hours: 475 PLN – 10 hours: 900 PLN Lessons shorter or longer than 60 minutes are also possible – in such cases, the price is determined proportionally to the duration of the lesson. The price includes teaching materials and analysis of compositions previously submitted by the student, so we can discuss their structure, harmony, and opportunities for further development in detail during the lesson.
