Find a badminton coach in Edmonton

Five fundamental skills shape the way you move, hit and control a rally in badminton.

• Grip: the forehand and backhand grips decide where the racquet face points, and where the shuttle goes.
• Footwork: good footwork buys you time, which is why it matters more than arm strength.
• Serve: an accurate serve stops your opponent attacking on the very first shot.
• Overhead strokes: the clear, drop and smash all start from the same preparation.
• Net play: soft hands and a stable lunge turn the front court into an advantage.

With a personal instructor, you get instant feedback on technique instead of guessing what went wrong.

The average cost of Badminton lessons in Edmonton is around $56/h.

The cost depends on:

• Your level: beginner, intermediate or competitive player.
• The coach: experience, playing background and certifications.
• The format: single lessons, weekly training or a full block of classes.
• The location: court rental, travel to your club or a shared session.

Sharing a session with a friend or family member lowers the cost per player.

Badminton suits almost every age, and the training simply changes to match the player.

• Ages 5 to 7: short racquets, big shuttles and games that build coordination and balance.
• Ages 8 to 12: the sweet spot for learning proper grip, footwork and overhead strokes.
• Teenagers: strength, speed and tactics develop together, which suits competitive training.
• Adults: adults learn technique faster because they understand the reasoning behind it.

One-on-one lessons let a child play at their own pace and an adult progress without pressure.
