What is B2-level Portuguese?

Other Language Proficiency Levels

A2 Level

B1 Level

C1 Level 

After the B1 language proficiency level, you will attain a B2 level which we have previously discussed; then you can advance to the C1 level, which is the advanced proficiency level. At the C1 level, you can express your ideas without searching or preparing too much, and you should understand various long and complex texts or conversations. 

You are also expected to be able to create detailed and well-structured text on complex topics and effectively use the Portuguese language for academic, social and professional activities. 

C2 Level

This is the highest level you can attain when learning a language, and at this point, you are an expert and expected to be fluent in Portuguese. At this stage, your expressions should have precise meaning even in complex situations, and you should understand everything you read or hear without stress.

Also, you should be able to summarize information obtained from different sources into a well-defined presentation. 

How Long is C1 Portuguese? 

For a native English speaker, it will take up to 6 months to attain a C1 level in Portuguese, but for speakers of other languages, it might take a longer or shorter time. 

However, it would be best to understand that several factors could make you learn faster or slower. Also, your dedication and consistency would go a long way to help you learn Portuguese faster. 

You will attain a C1 level in Portuguese in 6 months if you study for at least 8 hours every day, and if this is too rushed for you, then you should take time to learn comfortably.
