About Kara
I am a recent honours graduate of Lethbridge College's Computer Information Technology Diploma Program. I have previous work experience at the Hanna Municipal Library (Summer Reading Program Assistant), Lethbridge College Learning Cafe (Peer Tutor), and Palliser Regional Schools (Computer Technician Support). As a Peer Tutor at Lethbridge College, I helped a student develop a better understanding of mathematical concepts, resulting in improved test scores. Throughout junior high and high school, I helped fellow classmates understand numerous concepts in both the math and science fields. I am a very patient, open, and encouraging individual; I will patiently work with an individual until they grasp the concept we are working on. I offer a safe, low stress environment for learning, allowing for deeper concentration on a subject.

My teaching methodology is as unique as each student. If a student is a more visual learner, diagrams or pictures can help explain topics. If a student is more auditory, I will carefully explain a topic. My aim is to help every student excel with the topic they are aiming to learn. The first tutoring session will involve getting to know and understand the learning style of the student as well as an introduction into the specific area or topic a student needs help with. I can offer tutoring for several topic areas including K-9 mathematics, biology, chemistry, astronomy, and K-12 English/Language Arts.
