About Adrianne

Hi! I’m a passionate and dedicated tutor currently in the final year of my degree in Education. I specialise in BSL and have experience working with a wide range of students, from primary school children to adults, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Over the years, I’ve taught in both public and private school settings and supported learners at different stages — from primary and secondary to sixth form. I’ve also tutored adults in Functional Skills and BSL, so I understand the challenges and anxieties that can come with learning at any age. My teaching style is flexible and student-focused. I believe in creating a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow in confidence. I love using visual learning techniques to break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps that students can truly understand. My lessons are affordable, friendly, and personalised to your needs. I’m here to help you succeed and feel more confident in your abilities.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is tailored to each individual learner. I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all method, so I adapt my style depending on the student’s needs, learning preferences, and goals. That said, my favourite teaching method is visual learning. I use BSL in all aspects of my daily life and would love to share the language with everyone. Lessons are typically 30 minutes to 1 hour, which I find is the ideal duration for focus and retention. I don't recommend sessions longer than an hour, as students (especially younger learners) often struggle with engagement and information overload. In most cases, short but regular sessions (once or twice a week) are more effective for long-term progress. However, I’m happy to adjust lesson times to suit your schedule and needs. I'm currently in the final year of my degree in Education and have hands-on experience with a wide range of students. I’ve worked in both public and private primary schools, supported secondary and sixth form students in a private school, and have a strong background in SEN (Special Educational Needs) across various age groups. I’ve also tutored adults in subjects like Functional English, Maths and BSL.

We used Adrianne to help our child with their GCSES, she was able to do english and maths and it went so well, they quite liked Adrianne and said she broke it down well them, they liked the visuals too as they could print them off and it helped them revise even more. She really changed how they were studying and increased their grades. She also happily sends over the lesson files so we know what they have learnt and can then help them with extra revision too.
