About Garima

As an individual, I am polite, enthusiastic and understanding. These are key skills when working with children, especially when you are a role model to them. At school, I am House Captain, Senior Online Safety Prefect and the Head of Big Sisters. During these roles I am required to be mature, efficient and respectable while handling issues and thinking of solutions. Additionally, I have a five year old baby sister who is adorable most of the time. She has taught me a lot about patience and I understand children's needs and how a positive and encouraging way of learning is imperative as I have distinguished that learning is not everyones strongest ability. I am a motivating friend who always encourages my peers to work their best with all the support I can offer which is something I will happily bring to the table when tutoring younger children.

About the lesson

I am available ASAP and whenever needed, preferably 6-10 hours a week for online one to-one-tutor sessions, in consideration with my timetable and your availability. Each lesson will be 1-2 hours (or can do longer, just need notice before) of intense learning. I am also happy to take breaks as I do support the Pomodoro technique (work for 25 minutes then take 5 minute break) as an efficient system of learning to keep ur brain engaged which has aided me achieve A's. During lessons, I am happy to go through any difficult questions received as homework, or that have been given in class and provide relevant past papers and problem solving tasks.

Previously, I have qualified with A* in Maths, therefore am able to successfully guide the children from experience as I have been in their position recently. I am currently studying my second and final year of sixth form at Gordon's Sixth Form, undertaking Mathematics, Economics and Sociology A-Level with a side of AS EPQ. I have attended lectures and visited the University of Oxford for an IT ALL ADDS UP Mathematics conference for Girls, as well as competing in the UKMT Maths Olympiad for girls 2021. In the future I intend to go to a Russell Group University and study Finance and Accountancy with a year abroad/ placement year.
