About Amelia
I am an A-level student studying Maths, Chemistry and Physics (predicted A-A*). I balance my study life playing Division 1 field hockey and coaching younger players once a fortnight.
I take my role as a tutor seriously and aim to create a positive, respectful learning environment where students can build confidence, improve their skills, and achieve their academic goals.
At GCSE, I got 6 grade 9s covering maths, chemistry, physics, biology and English language.

Teaching techniques & methodology
My approach is student-focused and supportive. I begin by identifying the student’s current level, strengths, and areas they find challenging. I explain concepts step by step using simple language, real-life examples, and visual aids where helpful. I encourage students to ask questions and think out loud so I can address misunderstandings early. Practice is a key part of my lessons—I guide students through examples first, then let them try independently with feedback.
Typical lesson length
Lessons are usually 60 minutes, which allows enough time for explanation, practice, and questions. Shorter sessions (30–45 minutes) are available for younger students or quick revision before tests.
Qualifications & experience
As a high-achieving student, I have a strong understanding of the subjects I teach and recent experience with exams and school expectations. This allows me to explain concepts in a way that is clear and relatable. I have experience helping classmates and younger students improve their understanding, confidence, and grades.
Who the lessons are for
My lessons are best suited for primary and lower-secondary students (ages ~8–15) who need help with homework, exam preparation, or building confidence in a subject. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s age, level, and learning pace.
