About Wenxi
I was trained as a master degree student in ESL, and as a PhD student in linguistics in Canada. I have over 20 years of teaching experience teaching different courses, such as English proficiency classes, TOEFL, IELTS and EAP. Over the last two years I taught EAP courses in a Chinese university. From my teaching, I also developed an efficient and successful EAP textbook for my students.

When I teach EAP courses, I use the communicative method in conducting my teaching. Specifically, in dealing with academic materials through listening and reading, I organize the class into the discussion about the content of the materials (such as the background information, issues, theme or conclusion, topic sentences, and evidences), and the techniques for the organization of the passage (such as the introduction, body development, conclusion, and climax technique). I will pay special attention to the students' development of critical thinking ability through debate and analytical writing.
