About Cate

I have worked across London and the UK as an actor for the last 40 years (Including RSC, The Globe, National Theatre, Frantic Assembly, BBC, ITV, Channel 4). I am experienced in working in Shakespeare, new writing, TV drama.

I've 15 years experience in teaching at London drama schools and one-to-one audition prep, and am currently studying for a Masters of Arts at the Royal Central School or Speech and Drama in Actor Training and Coaching.

About the lesson

My 1 hour lessons, or blocks thereof, are suited to actors of all levels of experience.

My approach is to couple my passion for text with tools that will suit the individual student. I borrow from a range of practitioners and my own 40 years experience with classical, modern, and tv scripts to facilitate and enrich your work. At your request we could focus on a specific specialist; for example Michael Chekov or Stanislavsky.

If you working on a monologue, perhaps for drama school entry, we can interrogate the script together. Or I can help you to find some text if you want to try something new.

As an actor myself, I am delighted to both read with you and direct you if you are working on a scene; for self-tapes, auditions, or your own development.

It is my belief that no amount of talking can be equal to 'getting it on it's feet'. My lessons will be primarily rehearsal and trying techniques, that is why they are exciting and I look forward to seeing what we can discover together.
