About Yudhvir

I have always valued education, not just in terms of results, but in building confidence and understanding how to learn effectively. Having studied at Eton College and then Durham University, I have experienced both the benefits of strong teaching and the challenges that can come when a particular approach does not quite suit the individual.

One of the reasons I want to tutor is because I recognise that schools do not always cater to every student’s needs. At times in my own studies, I found that certain subjects only started to make sense when they were explained in a slightly different way or approached from a new angle. That experience has stayed with me, and it is something I try to bring into my tutoring. I take the time to understand how each student learns best and adapt my approach accordingly, rather than relying on a one size fits all method.

I genuinely enjoy helping students make progress and seeing that moment when something clicks. My aim is not just to improve grades, but to build confidence and help students feel more in control of their work. I keep lessons friendly and supportive, while still focused and productive, so students feel comfortable asking questions and pushing themselves to improve.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred on clarity, structure, and adaptability to each individual student. I focus on breaking down complex topics into simple, manageable steps, ensuring students properly understand the foundations before building up to more advanced material. A key part of my teaching is developing strong exam technique through regular past paper practice, helping students become familiar with how to apply their knowledge under timed conditions.

Lessons typically last one hour, which I find is the right balance to maintain focus while covering meaningful content. However, I am flexible and can adjust lesson length depending on the student’s needs and stage in their studies, particularly closer to exams.

In terms of my academic background, I was educated at Eton College and achieved grades 7 to 9 across all GCSE subjects, followed by 2 A star grades and 1 A at A level. I then graduated from Durham University with an Upper Second Class Honours degree and went on to complete the PGDL at BPP with a Merit, as well as passing the SQE1 on my first sitting. Alongside this, I have developed strong communication and mentoring skills through leadership roles and client facing work, which I bring into my tutoring.

My lessons are suitable for students preparing for 11 plus, Common Entrance, and GCSE exams. I am happy to teach across all subjects at these levels, and I tailor each session to the student’s goals, whether that is improving confidence, strengthening understanding, or aiming for top grades.
