About Sean
Hi! My name is Sean, and I am a International Relations and History student at the London School of Economics. Before that, I was one of 14 King's (academic) Scholars at Eton, placing first out of 600 students in the selection exams. At Eton, I earned four A*s at A-Level, eleven 9 grades at GCSE, and placed first in several sets of school-wide exams in a handful of subjects.
Over the last four years, I have mentored around a dozen students, including for 11+ selection exams, 13+ scholarship exams to prestigious schools such as Eton and Westminster Colleges, GCSE, A-Level, and university admissions. During that time, I have helped to secure 13+ academic scholarships and 11+ entry to Eton College for several students, lift their predicted A-Level grades from As and lower to A*s, and gain entry to their schools' exclusive scholarship preparation classes, among other successes. Specifically for English, I also helped one student earn an A/B grade in the Eton scholarship exams, and another GCSE student improve from predicted 3 and 4 grades (language/literature) to 6 and 7 over the span of a day's tuition.
You can find more information about my academic and personal background at (concealed information) Thank you very much for your time!

To a large extent, there are certain key techniques to writing high-scoring English essays that teachers often gloss over. This may include specific steps to writing compelling introductions or an emotive creative writing piece, or analysing all the important aspects of a poem. By teaching these simple methods, I seek to help students easily make remarkable improvements to their grades.
Lessons will consist of two parts: going over past papers (which they may have completed before the lesson), and covering any key topics which they might not have grasped beforehand, with homework assigned if it fits within the student's availability.
In terms of qualifications, I came first in my English school exams (out of 260), achieved a 9 grade at GCSE, and earned a 760 (out of 800, within the top 0.5% of participants) in the writing and logic sections of the SAT. I cover everything at GCSE level and below, such as SAT, GCSE, Year 8 scholarship prep, Common Entrance, and 11+ exams.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
Sean is really knowledgeable and experienced in teaching multiple subjects. He is very patient, and has been instrumental in helping my child secure his dream senior school offer. Highly recommended!
Sean has been my tutor for a few months now and I’ve made great progress in A Level Economics. His lessons are engaging and flexible- we explore recent relevant news topics related to economics- but the main focus is going through past paper questions and essays or on consolidating content for topics that I feel weren’t covered well in school.
Sean provides a wealth of information e.g his substack where he analyses economic events in a clear and accessible way.
He has in addition been hugely helpful in answering any economics related questions I may have as well as giving advice on essay competitions and more general personal statement advice.
Sean is a phenomenal tutor and I highly recommend him.View more recommendations
