About Edward
I am a low brass educator and performer with over 10 years of teaching experience and a current studio of over 60 students across North Texas. I currently teach trombone and euphonium students in multiple school districts ranging from beginning band through advanced and college-level musicians.
As a performer, I have appeared with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra and served as Principal Trombone of the Little Opera Theatre of New York. I have participated in festivals including the Aspen Music Festival and Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, where I had the opportunity to work with Christian Lindberg and was awarded the ACA Fellowship at Aspen in 2024.
My honors include winning the UTA Concerto Competition and Lichtenwalter Competition, earning placements in multiple International Trombone Association competitions, and being selected as the only American participant in the 71st ARD International Music Competition in Munich, Germany that year.
I earned my Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, where I studied with Dennis Bubert of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and my Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where I studied with Per Brevig of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

My teaching approach is highly individualized and process-driven, with an emphasis on building strong fundamentals, musicality, confidence, and healthy playing habits. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to each student’s personality, goals, and learning style. I believe long-term growth comes from consistency, patience, and understanding how to approach improvement step by step rather than searching for quick fixes. I also place a strong emphasis on building rapport and creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and exploring music freely. I believe students learn best when they feel supported, understood, and genuinely engaged in the process. My teaching focuses heavily on developing technique through a musical approach rather than relying on excess tension or force, with the goal of making playing feel as natural and effortless as possible. In addition to technical development, I strongly encourage students to learn the language and style of music through listening and recordings. Demonstration and active listening are both central parts of my teaching process. I also offer affordable biweekly online group classes that give students additional opportunities to work on rhythm, fundamentals, listening, audition preparation, and musical development in a collaborative setting. I teach students ranging from beginning band through college-level and adult amateur musicians. I also have experience working with students with ADHD, autism, and dyslexia, and I strive to adapt lessons to help each student succeed in the way that works best for them.

Edward has been giving my middle school daughter private trombone lessons for a year now. He is professional, knowledgeable and has a way of connecting with the youth that is so valuable. My daughter loves working with Edward and we have seen so much progress in her skills since she began working with him.
My son has been seeing Edward since fall of 2025 for lessons. I couldn’t recommend him enough. He’s been really great and patient with my son and is extremely knowledgeable about the trombone. We will continue using him for the next year as well, he’s awesome!
Ed has provided private Euphonium instruction for my child for the past two years, and we have had an excellent experience. He is highly organized, professional, and communicates clearly and effectively. Through his instruction, my child has shown significant growth in both musical ability and confidence. Beyond developing technical skills, Ed has also inspired a strong sense of motivation and a healthy competitive drive that has encouraged my child to strive for excellence. His expertise and dedication as an instructor are evident, and I highly recommend him to anyone seeking exceptional music instruction.
Edward was really patient with me and helps me stay on topic. Edward helped me reach my goals for this year including 1st chair, select band , 1 on my solo and hopefully Honors Band.
Thank you Edward, Farrah ZI know Edward from taking lessons with him. He's very great at giving lessons and knows many different ways to solve any issue you might have when playing the trombone. Also, the lessons aren't an instant solution, but they're a way to unlock many different things with one or multiple tricks.
I highly recommend Edward! He was a great mentor to my son. He showed professionalism and patience.
My son took lessons during the school year with Mr. Dealecio. My son has improved and gained more confidence. He has given my son great tips and helpful material to succeed in band.
Edward is an amazing teacher. He has worked with my son for over a year now. My son has improved in not only his playing ability but his self confidence while working with Edward. He is thoughtful, quick to answer questions and always looking for new oppurtunites to help him grow.
Edward tutors my son who is a 6th grade beginner euphonium student. My son says that Edward is calm and patient, helps explain mistakes and how to correct them, and gives great positive feedback. My son’s director says he has made so much improvement this year and that credit goes to Edward. Highly recommend!
Ed is an exemplary educator and trombone player. He displays the excellence in the field while balancing his patience with his students.
I had the privilege to perform with Ed in an orchestra and he displayed the utmost professionalism and collegiality.
I highly recommend seeking his counsel for trombone pedagogy!Edward is an excellent trombone tutor! He is very encouraging and my son, who is very shy, has really excelled with Edward’s help! Edward is also great at communicating. We highly recommend!
Edward teaches my 6th grader trombone. He is absolutely amazing and has helped my daughter believe in herself and become even better. When she first started, she did not have much confidence in herself, but now she does. It was a rocky start to where she wanted to quit, but after Mr. D and I came up with a plan and I let her choose when she wanted to practice outside of school, she found her love for music again and did not want to quit. Not only did he teach my child to be a better trombone player and person, he taught me how to be a more supportive parent, and I am forever grateful for that. Thank you so much!
Edward has been doing private trombone lessons with my son for the last five months. With Edward’s coaching, my son has grown in his technical skills and ability to incorporate dynamics into his playing. It has been money and time well spent. We will continue doing lessons with Edward next school year and even hope to add our younger son to his tuba lesson schedule in the fall. Highly recommended!
Mr D has been a really great teacher throughout my time in band! He is always incredibly flexible and forgiving on scheduling, gives great feedback that dosent ever seem mean, and pushes students to their highest possible heights. I would very much recommend that anyone looking to play trombone or improve take lessons with him.
