About the lesson

Hello, my name is Manolo. I am a native speaker of Spanish born in Barcelona. I can help you with your Spanish in your studies or for pleasure. I also teach classical guitar for beginners.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach Spanish from KS3 to A Level and classical guitar up to grade 3 of the Trinity Guildhall's curriculum.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

Licenciado en FilosofÃa (Universidad de Valencia, Spain), Curso de AdaptaciÃ³n Professional - CAP (Universidad de Valencia, Spain), Information Management BA Hons (Loughborough University, UK).

- How much do you charge?

I charge £20 per hour for 1 hour lessons of classical guitar and £25 for Spanish lessons at home. For other arrangements, please contact me.

- Where do you teach?

I teach Spanish at the student's home or in my own place in Leyton. For classical guitar, I only teach at my own place, but I have a good spare guitar for students so there is no need to bring your own.

- When are you available?

All days available (only evenings), but preferably Fridays or weekends.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach from KS3 up to A Level. I also teach classical guitar to beginners up to Grade 3.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I can prepare for GCSE Spanish and AS or A2 Spanish.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

Learning a language is about revising a little but often, particularly grammar points and meaningful vocabulary applied to practical situations or based on specific themes of interest. Exposure to the language is also important. Lastly, if you have a good reason (work or personal reason) to learn it, it will also help you to progress further.

Classical guitar is a wonderful outlet for adults and a character-forming discipline for children. I think that taking exams is a good idea in order to motivate you and as a benchmark. Trinity Guildhall offers all the pieces in one neat booklet, which is very convenient. This is an important difference with ABRSM, a different examination board also very popular.

Whatever curriculum you choose, it is never too late to start if you think that you will enjoy it.
