About Fathima Risna
• I am currently doing Master of Education at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. • I had been a high school biology teacher for nearly 8 years in Sri Lanka. • I had done my Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science in Malaysia. • I do online biology tutoring for students in the Middle East, Australia, as well as Vancouver students. • As a teacher and being a Master of Education student, I will evaluate the student’s achievements to check whether they have met the state learning standards they are expected to learn.

• I motivate my students through various teaching strategies and encourage them to learn in an interactive manner. • I use my strong leadership skills to create lesson plans or develop curriculum accordingly, as it helps my students to think of creative ways to engage their minds. • Students get involved in hands-on nature of learning and experience the underlying mechanisms, new strategies, teamwork, and competition which strengthen their lifelong interest. • I make them work in an environment in small collaborative groups, and they get involved in problem-based, project-based, and inquiry-based learning. • I would also encourage the students to do the research in teamwork which brings ideas, solves difficult problems, is very supportive, and builds morale. • By working together, team members feel a strong sense of belonging and deep commitment to each other and the common goal.
