About S M Ahsan Ullah
BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and I am currently completing my Master's at the University of Auckland. I tutor Math, Physics, and Chemistry by building a solid base first, so you understand why a method works rather than just memorizing it. Secondary students in Years 7 to 10, plus Cambridge and IB. I genuinely enjoy the moment when something finally clicks for a student. My approach is to find the gap rather than just correct the wrong answer.
Most students who struggle with maths are not bad at it. They are usually missing one earlier idea that everything else has been stacked on top of. So I start each student with a short diagnostic, work backward to that gap, and then rebuild forward using worked examples, guided practice, and plenty of chances for the student to try it while I watch.
A student who can explain the steps out loud will still remember them in the exam room. I work with junior secondary students in Years 7 to 10 who are laying the groundwork for NCEA, and with Cambridge and IB students who need an approach tailored to their specific curriculum.
Lessons run for one hour, one-on-one, either online or in person. Ninety-minute sessions are also available for exam preparation, and I also take small groups for students who learn better alongside a friend. The first lesson is mostly about working out exactly where you are at, so book in, and we can take a look together.
