About Savannah
I want my students to understand driving rather than simply memorize instructions. Telling someone when to brake, where to position the vehicle, or when to change lanes can help in the moment, but it does not necessarily teach them how to make that decision independently later. That is why I explain the reasoning behind what we do. I want you to understand what you should be observing, what hazards you should anticipate, how traffic around you is developing, and why one decision may be safer than another. As your understanding grows, I gradually stop giving you every answer and start asking you to find the answer yourself. That transition is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. I want you to develop your own judgment, not depend permanently on someone sitting beside you. When you understand the reasoning behind good driving, you carry that knowledge with you wherever the road takes you.

A personalized lesson plan should never remain exactly the same from beginning to end. As your skills develop, my approach develops with you. At the beginning, I may provide more explanation, demonstrations, reminders, and guidance because you are still building your foundations. As those foundations become stronger, I intentionally reduce my input and allow you to take greater responsibility for your decisions. You may begin by following detailed instructions through a maneuver, then progress to completing the same maneuver with minimal guidance, and eventually handle it independently in changing traffic conditions. I also use each lesson to identify patterns—perhaps your steering is improving but your observation needs attention, or your confidence is strong but your speed judgment needs refinement. Those observations shape the next session. In this way, your training remains personal, relevant, and responsive instead of becoming a one-size-fits-all driving program.
