About Aaron

Hi! I’m Aaron, a professional oboist based in New York City. I hold both my Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Classical Oboe Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, where I studied under Robert Botti (New York Philharmonic). Currently, I perform as a Section Oboist with The Orchestra Now, and my recent performance highlights include playing with the New York Philharmonic and the National Arts Center Orchestra, along with reaching final rounds for major orchestral auditions nationwide.

I bring a wealth of real-world performing and audition experience directly into my studio. As a dedicated educator, I’ve also served as a mentor for the National Seminario at Ravinia, working with young musicians to build technical confidence and artistic expression.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is highly individual, encouraging, and tailored to your personal musical goals:

Fundamentals & Tone: Breath support, posture, finger technique, and producing a warm, reliable sound.

Repertoire & Musician Creation: Solos, orchestral excerpts, and chamber music across all classical eras.

Audition & Performance Prep: High-level preparation for youth orchestras, high school conservatory auditions, and college entrance exams.

Reed-Making & Maintenance: Practical guidance on reed adjustment and tools to help you take control of your equipment.
